NextSource Materials has successfully delivered its first commercial shipment of SuperFlake graphite concentrate from the Molo Mine in southern Madagascar, recognized as one of the world’s largest graphite resources and the sole source of SuperFlake high-quality graphite.
The initial shipments, sent to Germany and the U.S. in late October, were transported through Madagascar’s Port of Tulear. This high-quality graphite is set to support the production of consumer electronics and fire-retardant applications under existing offtake agreements.
“This marks a significant milestone for NextSource as we establish ourselves as a supplier of critical materials to global markets while contributing to economic development in Madagascar,” stated Craig Scherba, President and CEO of NextSource Materials. Operations at the Molo Mine commenced in 2024, with the project on track to achieve a Phase 1 production target of 17,000 tons per annum (tpa). Additionally, plans are in place to scale up production to 150,000 tpa.
